Creative Lab

PERO’s Creative Lab is a destination for creativity, explorations + reimaginings.

Housing PERO founder Veronique AA Lapeyre’s multidisciplinary creative practice, the Creative Lab also focuses on one-off creative projects including events, research and writing that seeks to explore the conversations of the day.

Veronique creates colourful pen and ink illustrations. New technicolour worlds in which monsters and demons coexist alongside stylish characters, graphics and giant snails.

Fruit, flowers and fauna have slowly crept into her imagination and illustrations, as a result of lockdown forcing Veronique to pay attention to the little things and get out into nature more.

Photography

Home (is)land is Veronique’s ongoing photography project of her fatherland Mauritius, started in 2015.

The project has grown into documenting the island’s unique colour palette and its rapidly-changing cultural and topical landscape.

Writing

Once a teenage hobby, Veronique has recently been re-exploring creative writing and essays. Recent pieces include “I Love This” article in Homes & Interiors Scotland about her love of textiles and work by textile artist Pauline Burbidge.

You can find more of Veronique’s writing over at the PERO blog.
